A collection of embroidered images, using the fabric of Helen Klebesadel. The words are from Kate Greenaway’s Victorian “Language of Flowers.” These works explore covert conversations by revealing the deeper meaning that may hide beneath a beautiful exterior. These may be read as feminist texts in that they reference several female traditions: watercolor paintings, floral imagery, embroidery and subverted, subversive communications between women.

I adore these!!!!! I am getting to work on lobelia and hydrangeas too. Much love for layered meanings.
